United Nations Links

After World War II, the League of Nations got together to establish an area where the United Nations would reside for international public relations.   The two locations decided on were either the UK or the US.  Rockefeller donated the land on First Avenue in Midtown Manhattan between 42nd & 48th Streets for the UN to be built.  The UN is not owned by any country, but all countries that it recognizes and it is not part of the United States and acts on its own contrary to popular belief. It acts in the best interest of the world and by vote of the nations it recognizes.
